Bob Sawyer - guitars / vocals / soundscapes
"Hi...I'm Bob Sawyer......I started playing in bands in the mid '60s, and have played in more bands that I can count......these include Iron Maiden, Praying Mantis and Weapon (this was my 'heavy metal phase'.....but I'm well over it now....) more recently, I've played in Earthsign (with Rick), and Firebird 7......my hobbies are walking in the country, exploring old railways, perusing junk shops (hoping to find an old 'gem') , home recording, and I am a self confessed 'Rock nerd'....and a guitar collector....and I like films....with an 'air of mystery'......."
Paul Jackson - guitars / keyboards /vocals
"My interests include reading and Sudoku. Not bad at impressions. My day job is quite fulfilling but still gives me time to enjoy the simple pleasures. First LP was Beethoven's 6th Symphony. Musical influences include most well known 70s guitar material but I also enjoy hearing a 60 piece orchestra when they are conducted well.
Used to be quite good at skiing and I enjoy sailing large catamarans. Hope to master the pedal steel guitar before arthritis gets me."
Rick Cullen - bass / vocals
"I'm Rick... I play Bass.
I was born in the early 60's and started playing clarinet and saxes in bands during the late 70's. This was good timing! Some years later, Bass guitars pulled my ears down, almost to the floor - and there I've stayed.
I enjoy the harmonic content and rythmic structure within most types of music, but could not recite one line of a song, however popular... I can, however, sing noises to accompany people who do enjoy remembering words.
I may play several different basses, but they all have the same notes in them. They look different, so I swap them around mostly for fun.
I like tall, thin, fast dogs and birdwatching.
Thank you...."
Steve Townsend - drums
"I started drumming when I was 12 and started playing gigs when I was 13 - that's an awfully long time ago. And I think I've played at some point in every year since then - so I should be a lot better than I am.
I began with Gene Krupa and Tony Meehan of The Shadows - and I found I can learn (pinch) something from every drummer I see.
Outside of music I compile cryptic crosswords and play squash (not both at the same time)..."
